Another way that is only happening right now is farming the Halloween labrynth, use the lfg tool to find people doing it.
There are loads of guides on crafting that'll show you the cheapest way to get to 500. You can store mats in the bank and alt characters. When you craft it will pull from the bank tabs first then crafting storage. Materials are easy to get in the game. You can farm or do the more profitable metas for salvage materials.

When I unlocked the astral weapons and I had to spent 10 Kralkatite Ore for each recipe (so 160 in total).I was happy to go craft my first weapon of the set but was kinda disappointed to see it needed 50 Kralkatite Ingots (or 500 ore).
